Admission

To be admitted to the Bachelor’s Degree Programme, applicants must hold an upper secondary school diploma or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable.

With regard to the assessment of the knowledge required for admission, the Degree Programme, in coordination with the School of Engineering of the University of Pisa and with the other Engineering Degree Programmes, has adopted the online admission test (TOLC-I) promoted and administered by the Interuniversity Consortium for Integrated Access Systems (C.I.S.I.A.).

Passing the test allows enrolment without Additional Learning Requirements (OFA). Students who choose to enrol in a first-cycle (Bachelor’s) Engineering Degree Programme without having passed the TOLC-I may attend remedial courses and subsequently take the internal test known as TIT (Test Interno Telematico), which is held before the start of classes in the first teaching period (see current Academic Calendar ).

In fact, for those who do not pass a TOLC-I test, the School of Engineering provides a remedial course entitled "Precourse in Mathematics," lasting 10 lectures, which will be taught previously at TIT ( see http://www.ing.unipi.it/it/entrare-a-ingegneria/prove-di-recupero).

Students who do not pass either the TOLC-I or the TIT may still enrol in the programme, but will be assigned Additional Learning Requirements (OFA).

Students who are assigned Additional Learning Requirements (OFA) will not be allowed to take any course examinations.

The fulfilment of any OFA (Additional Learning Requirements) may be achieved by passing a subsequent TOLC-I test, administered at the locations and on the dates scheduled by the CISIA Consortium, or by passing one of the remedial tests (TIT) provided for under the Admission Regulations of the Bachelor’s Degree Programmes of the School of Engineering of the University of Pisa.
