In this context, the Bachelor’s Degree Programme aims to train graduates with a solid foundation in the basic scientific disciplines, in the core subjects of industrial engineering, and in the characterising subjects of the aerospace sector. This preparation enables graduates to carry out design and verification activities for aerospace systems, to work in the aeronautical services and space industries, or to successfully continue their studies in the Master’s Degree Programme.

The The Bachelor's Degree Program offers a single, three-year methodological curriculum. Upon graduation, students may progress to the Master’s Degree Programme in Aerospace Engineering without additional academic requirements, whereas admission to other related Master’s Degree Programmes may require the fulfilment of specific prerequisites. The course modules are organised to provide a solid understanding of the methodological and operational aspects of the basic sciences, such as calculus, physics, and chemistry, of the fundamental subjects of industrial engineering, such as technical drawing, materials and structural mechanics, mechanics, and applied thermodynamics, and of the characterising subjects of aerospace engineering, including aeronautical systems, fluid dynamics, aeronautical propulsion, and aerospace structural technologies. The final examination, which carries 3 ECTS credits, consists of an in-depth study of a topic chosen by the student from among the modules of the Degree Programme.

The two-year Master's Degree Program in Aerospace Engineering aims to train specialised professionals capable of contributing effectively to the design and management of complex systems operating within the atmosphere (aeronautical systems) or beyond it (space systems). This objective is achieved by providing advanced preparation in the aerospace disciplines and by developing strong system-level design and management skills. The programme is structured into two curricula: Aeronautics and Space. The Aeronautics curriculum offers two distinct tracks: (i) Structures and Systems and (ii) Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics, while the Space curriculum offers a study track taught in English, open to both Italian and international students (MSSE – Master of Science in Space Engineering). Teaching activities are based on lectures and theoretical exercises which, in some cases, are complemented by practical laboratory work carried out in the aerospace facilities of the Department hosting the Degree Programme. During the academic year, supplementary seminars delivered by Italian and international experts may also be offered. In addition, numerous collaboration agreements with external institutions enable joint research activities and allow students to undertake internships as part of their thesis work.

The Bachelor's and Master's Degree courses in Aerospace Engineering are hosted by the
Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering and are part of the
School of Engineering of the University of Pisa..

For a concise presentation of the Aerospace Engineering degree program, see the following
document and videos for the Bachelor' s e Master's Degree Programs.

L’ingegneria aerospaziale, uno fra i settori industriali a livello tecnologico più avanzato, richiede una specifica figura professionale capace di adattarsi alla continua e rapida evoluzione dello stato dell’arte delle scienze e tecnologie aerospaziali.
